Eric Tsang says Hokkaido crash was a close call

30 Jan – Although he seemed to be fine following his previous car crash in Hokkaido, actor-producer Eric Tsang recently admitted that he was never closer to death as he was that day.

As reported on Mingpao, the actor, who appeared at a restaurant launch in Taiwan with daughter Bowie Tsang recently, stated that the crash itself was like a scene from a movie.

"There was snow and broken glass everywhere when I opened my eyes. The car was beyond recognition. The oil was still leaking, the airbag exploded, as did the tyres. The suitcases were broken and all the snack I bought were scattered everywhere," he said.

Eric said that when he returned to Hong Kong to meet his friends after the crash, he told them, "You have to be thankful that we were able to be together right now instead of going to the funeral home to see me."

Although he was not suffering from major internal wounds, Eric said that he was at risk of developing pneumonia and was hurt from the external injuries.

"It hurts when I bend over. But the doctor said that there is no medicine for the rib injury, so I have to take more rest and take more deep breaths," he said.
