Eric Tsang joins HK-Malaysia CNY film, "Money Games"
29 Aug - Following rumours that he is filming in Malaysia, Eric Tsang recently appeared at the press conference of the new Chinese New Year movie, "Money Games".
The actor-turned-TVB Executive, who was at the event alongside other co-stars including Bobby Au Yeung and Malaysian YouTubers the Steady Gang, joked that he agreed to the Malaysian-Hong Kong collaboration due to the "high remuneration".
He then expressed, "Malaysia is the place with the most New Year songs, and it is also the happiest place for Chinese New Year. So, I am very happy to be able to participate in the Chinese New Year film this time."
Eric stated that a lot of Chinese New Year movies have been released in Malaysia and that his "Super Trio Show" was also beloved in the country. Therefore, it was a no brainer for him to accept the offer when it was made by producer Jack Lim.
The actor also said that he experienced something "miraculous", explaining, "Every time I started shooting, I prayed for good weather. And it's very miraculous that every time I started shooting, it wouldn't rain. This is a sign that the movie will be a big hit!"
It is noted that the movie is still in production.
Meanwhile, when asked about his experience filming with the Steady Gang, Eric said that the trio are good comedians, adding that he hopes to write a comedy film for them to star in in the future.
