Entertainment highlights from the 2017 Formula One Singapore Grand Prix

The Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix happened from 15 to 17 September with performances that took place at The Padang, The Village stage and the Esplanade.

Some of the acts that performed on Friday (15 September) were American band OneRepublic and British singer-songwriter Lianne La Havas. Thousands turned up for OneRepublic, who performed their popular hits such as “Secrets”. Watch OneRepublic’s performance here.

On Saturday (16 September), pop star Ariana Grande, British band Duran Duran and electronic duo The Chainsmokers entertained the crowd at F1. At The Padang, Grande danced in sky-high heels and gave a high-energy performance while The Chainsmokers got everybody jumping to their EDM-pop tunes. Watch The Chainsmokers’ performance here.

Meanwhile, Duran Duran treated fans at the Village stage to nostalgic tunes such as “Come Undone” and “Notorious”. The band also performed the next day at The Padang, in front of a bigger crowd.

Wrapping up the F1 weekend with a bang on Sunday (17 September) were Seal, DJ Calvin Harris and George the Poet.

Seal’s soaring vocals did not disappoint as fans who got a chance to catch him at The Village stage were treated to hits such as “Kiss From A Rose”.

After the race was over, the crowd gathered at The Padang to party with DJ Calvin Harris. The one-and-a-half hour set included a series of Harris’ popular songs such as “Bounce”, “Slide” and “How Deep Is Your Love”. The 33-year-old also threw in some hip hop beats before surprising the crowd by playing the sensational song, “Despacito”.
