Ellen Joyce Loo's spouse thanks the public for the support

14 Aug – Fisher Yu, the spouse of recently deceased Canadian-HK singer Ellen Joyce Loo has recently posted her first message on social media following news of Ellen's death.

As reported on Sina, the Taiwanese cinematographer, who married the singer in 2016, took to Facebook to express her feelings about the sudden passing, writing, "Ellen and I. We've been searching for a reason. Just like how you would look for the right glasses if you have myopia, but technology then improved and you can just wear contact lenses instead. But she couldn't find a pair of glasses that suited her, and couldn't wait for the invention of contact lenses."

Fisher stated that she and Ellen, who is said to have been battling bipolar disease, knew too little about mental illnesses, but they had tried their best.

"I have received all the support and condolences from everyone. We must all stay strong and we have to be strong in in power. Rest in power," she added.

Ellen and Fisher began their relationship over seven years ago, sharing many similar interests in music, photography, and pets. After breaking up in 2015, the two reconciled and decided to tie the knot the year after.

The cinematographer was filming in mainland China when it was reported that Ellen had died from a fall outside her Happy Valley home.

She was 32.
