Elaine Ng returns to acting with new ViuTV drama
26 Oct – Now that her only daughter is away, Elaine Ng is finally free to make her acting comeback.
As reported on Mingpao, the former Miss Asia, who will be a part of the new ViuTV drama "Utopia" (translated title), shared that she is nervous about doing the drama as it has been seven years since she last filmed an acting project.
"In the drama, my character is in a relationship with Thomas Lam, who plays a father of a nine-year old son. Unfortunately, he later commits suicide. It is very realistic. I hope to convey a message to parents and children to not make such a stupid decision and to cherish your life," she said.
Speaking about her own relationship with daughter Etta, who is now living in Canada with her girlfriend Andi, Elaine said that her daughter previously sent a message to her.
"I did an ad earlier, and after she saw it, she sent me a short message saying, "you look well". I replied, "Thanks". This is progress," she said.
Elaine said that her daughter is almost 20, and that she will respect her and treat her with courtesy.
