Edmond Leung promises to reduce alcohol intake
5 Apr – After a short hiatus caused by his previous DUI, Hong Kong singer Edmond Leung recently made an appearance at the launch of viuTV's game show, "Good Night Show", Mingpao reported.
The singer, who recently attended the first court hearing for his DUI case, admitted to the media that he feels sorry for the previous incident and that he hopes to concentrate on work as before.
"Actually, it is not convenient for me to elaborate more on this matter. All I can say is that I have learned my lesson. I have vowed to reduce my drinking habit and will never drive when I am drunk," he said.
Edmond also added that he will follow the aircraft pilot rule.
"If I drink a bottle of wine, I will wait for 12 hours before driving my car," he said.
When asked if there is a chance for him to stop drinking altogether, Edmond said that it would be irresponsible for him to say that he would practice total abstinence, since socialising with people is also part of his job as an entertainer.
"All I can do is reduce my alcohol intake and monitor myself more," he added.
Edmond was arrested for DUI in late January, after crashing his car into a railing on the streets of the Mid-Levels. Following a breathalyser test, he was found to have exceeded the legal blood alcohol limit. The Eastern Magistrates' Court will be announcing its decision regarding the DUI on 6 April.
