Eason Chan teared up as he signs his new album

11 Oct - Eason Chan couldn't help but shed tears during the signing event for his new album "CHIN UP!"

As reported on Mingpao, the singer, who released his latest album after five years, stated that he just felt touched and overwhelmed by emotions at the notion that the album was made through a collective effort after so many years.

"This album is the hard work of many people, not just me. It is the result of everyone's hard work, and my colleagues were like factory workers, waiting for me to sign and wrap the album... Thank you for your hard work," he said.

Eason also stated that he has forgotten how long it had been since he held such an event, seeing that his last album was released in 2018.

"I remember one time, I was too tired after signing too many records, that I began writing a series of numbers that looked like phone numbers. My colleagues were confused about that. I honestly don't know what I wrote. I really hope to find the person who got it. Did they keep it? If so, take a photo and send it to me. I want to see it again," he said.

The new album cover is designed by Hong Kong artist Michael Lau, who uses a childlike style painting to present a carefree feeling. The nine colourful clouds at the bottom are inspired by the English proverb "on cloud nine", which means joy. Eason mentioned that there is a mini version of the cover illustration printed inside, as well as a certificate of the painting for fans to keep as a souvenir.
