Eason Chan scraps Bangkok concert over safety concerns for overseas fans
13 Jan - Eason Chan has decided to cancel the Thailand leg of his "Fear and Dreams" tour following the incident that had befallen Chinese actor Wang Xing, who was trafficked to the Thai-Myanmar border after being duped into accepting a supposed acting project in the country.
Sunfan Media Group, the organiser of the singer's concert, which was originally scheduled to be performed at the Impact Arena in Bangkok on 22 February, released a statement on 10 January, saying that the concert was cancelled "in light of recent safety issues concerning Chinese citizens and fans travelling to Thailand."
"After careful discussions with Eason Chan, his management team, and the relevant companies in Bangkok, we have made the cautious decision to cancel the Eason Chan Fear and Dreams World Tour Bangkok concert," the organiser stated.
The announcement pointed out that fans who have purchased tickets through the official ticketing platform will receive a full refund and all procedures will be completed within 10 working days.
Eason's manager Gan Jingjing stated, "We don't want any fans or their families around the world to worry about their safety because of going to Thailand to watch the concert ... Of course, we all know that many are very disappointed with the cancellation. We are really sorry and hope to go again one day in the future."
