Dong Xuan opens up about husband's sexual assault case

20 Dec – After keeping silent for so long about her husband's sexual assault case that has been plaguing her family, actress Dong Xuan (also known as Michelle Dong) recently opened up about her own feelings about dealing with the matter.

As reported on Phoenix, the actress, who appeared on the recent episode of "Star Talks", shared everything with the audiences - from her journey of being a struggling actress, marrying fellow actor Gao Yunxiang and seemingly living a happy life as a wife and mother, and the subsequent arrest of her husband for sexual assault in Sydney.

Dong admitted that she has heard netizens saying that she is forgiving to a fault - having supported Gao and moving to Sydney to manage the family while he is dealing with his court case, but stressed that she is resisting, not "facing" the incident.

"All I know, I am still that same stubborn girl. I can't be distracted. I can't be discouraged. I have to use all of my power to solve these problems. Parents need to take care of children, and people need to work. I am the only one in my family with shoulders that can carry the burden. Whatever happens in the future will be dealt with in the future," she said.

As for dealing with the tragedy that has befallen her family, Dong said that she is never the type to cry.

"When life pushes me to tears, I laugh instead. Crying is only for beautiful things," she said.
