Dilraba Dilmurat to play a cop in new drama

14 Apr – Dilraba Dilmurat is soon to begin filming her new drama, "Sword Rose".

The upcoming series will see the Uyghur actress playing a tougher role than her usual fantasy characters, as a female police officer who is part of a six-member team of the Anti-Abduction unit.

The crime series will be revolving around child abduction, and has the actress working alongside Jin Shijia, You Yong, Wang Yizhe, and Feng Guoqiang among others.

It is co-written by Huang Kai Wen of "Reset" fame, and will be helmed by director Su Wan Chong, who directed hit dramas like, "Line Walker: The Prelude" and "Sacrifice".

This is the second drama where fans can see the actress transform herself, after she played a top prosecutor in the 2023 series, "Prosecution Elite" alongside Tong Dawei.

The series is scheduled for a 2024 release.

China anchors 'monster ship' in South China Sea, Philippine coast guard says
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said on Saturday that China's largest coastguard vessel has anchored in Manila's exclusive economic zone (EEZ) in the South China Sea, and is meant to intimidate its smaller Asian neighbour. The China coastguard's 165-meter 'monster ship' entered Manila's 200-nautical mile EEZ on July 2, spokesperson for the PCG Jay Tarriela told a news forum.
