Dee Hsu to play Dao Ming-feng in new "Meteor Garden"?
22 Nov – Her sister Barbie Hsu was the original Shan Chai in the 2001 Taiwanese idol drama, "Meteor Garden", and now TV personality Dee Hsu may have a chance of being involved in the franchise as well if she says yes to the upcoming 2018 remake.
As reported on Sina, the former "Kangxi Lai Le" host previously took to social media to express her interest in working in the 2018 remake, following the press conference revealing the new cast members who are playing Shan Chai and F4 members.
Netizens who saw the post, joked that Dee will be too old to play Shan Chai, and stated that she may have a bigger chance playing the role of Dao Ming-si's mother, Dao Ming-feng - the controlling businesswoman who uses cruel ways to prevent Shan Chai from dating her son.
But now it seems that there may be a possibility that Dee will play the role, as her manager confirmed that Dee has received an offer from the production.
"The details of the role in the show can't be disclosed right now," said the manager, although added that Dee will have a lot of scenes with the new Shan Chai, actress Shen Yue, if she accepts the offer.
The original character of Dao Ming Feng was played by Zhen Xiu, who was then 41. Dee is currently 39.
