David Beckham Praises Wife Victoria for U.K.’s Mother’s Day: ‘She Gave Me the Most Amazing Children’

David Beckham is endlessly grateful for the women in his life.

In a series of posts on Sunday, the soccer star praised his mother Sandra and wife Victoria Beckham in honor of the U.K.’s Mother’s Day.

Sharing a black-and-white photo of their children – sons Brooklyn, 17, Romeo, 13, Cruz, 11, and daughter Harper, 4 – to Instagram, David wrote, “17 years ago our brood started and these little ones have the most amazing mummy that they love so much.”

He continued, “And I love her for many reasons but the main one is because she gave me the most amazing children … Happy mama’s day as the little ones would say.”

Earlier in the day, the reigning Sexiest Man Alive posted an old photo with Sandra, calling her his “number one fan from day one.”

“More importantly your support, honesty, and tireless love for not just me and my sisters but for your grand kids which really shows the type of person you are,” the 40-year-old wrote. “Amazingly generous … Thank you for being my mum.”

Brooklyn – who recently celebrated a birthday – also used the social media site to praise designer Victoria.

Alongside a black-and-white image of the 41-year-old, the teen wrote, “You love, protect and inspire me every day. I love you so much.”

The family of six are tight-knit, and despite their celebrity status, Victoria and David are still just “mom and dad” to their kids.

“When David takes Brooklyn to school, Brooklyn makes him drop him down at the end of the street, because he thinks it’s embarrassing,” Victoria previously told PEOPLE. “I’m like, if you’re embarrassed by your dad and he’s David Beckham, what chance does any other father at the school have?”
