Crowd favourite Zai Xing Vegetarian Food to relocate end June 2023
Popular vegetarian Beehoon stall Zai Xing Vegetarian Food 再兴素食 斎菜 will be relocating to Tiong Bahru Market & Food Centre on 1 July 2023. With the kopitiam at the junction of Seng Poh Road & Eng Watt Road in Tiong Bahru closing for good on 27 June 2023, many of the tenants will have to find new homes or shut their doors for good.
For our vegetarian friends: take note of this change!
The main operator of the kopitiam has decided not to continue operating it, and Zai Xing Vegetarian Food will be moving to Tiong Bahru Market & Food Centre just as Loo’s Hainanese Chicken Rice had previously. They will take over stall #02-36 located between Joo Chiat Beef King & Toa Payoh Fishball Minced Meat Noodle.
Mr & Mrs Nasi Lemak recently shifted to this kopitiam, and it seems that they will have to move yet again very soon.
Hopefully, the remaining tenants at the Seng Poh Road kopitiam will be able to find a new location like Zai Xing Vegetarian Food has. Otherwise, we may have to say goodbye to them for good.
During Zai Xing Vegetarian Food’s time at the kopitiam at Seng Poh Road, they have consistently served up flavourful and fragrant vegetarian beehoon.
At S$4 for a small but generous portion, and S$5 for a large portion, it was good value for money. They are also known for their toppings such as fresh fried bean curd skin. Regulars swear by their Fried Mushroom Rolls that have a light but addictive texture.
As Zai Xing Vegetarian Food is such a popular vegetarian breakfast and lunch spot, here’s hoping that their move will not be too big of a change for fans of the store!
