Coronation Street and Waterloo Road star Kym Marsh has shared a moving tribute to her late son Archie on the 15th anniversary of his passing.

The actress posted on Instagram on Monday (February 12) with a picture of items related to Archie, including framed handprints and footprints, explaining how her "life changed forever" when he died moments after being born in 2009.

"15 years since life changed forever. 15 years of missing you, of loving you, of wishing we could hold you again," Kym wrote. "Of wishing we could hear your laugh for the first time. Wishing we had heard your voice. Wishing we had got to see you play and run and enjoy your birthdays, as you so deserved to do.

"We will never have those things with you Archie but you live on in us all. Today we will celebrate you, the beautiful boy you were. We will smile at the thought of your face and We will hug each other as if from you."

The actress explained how "this year is a little bit more special" as they "know that you are with your Grandad" following the death of her father David last month.

"That you now have him beside you. To give you big cuddles from us all and I know you will cuddle him right back for us," she continued.

"It’s comforting to know you will be together, so although we will always be missing our jigsaw piece, we know you are creating your own jigsaw up there that one day we will all be a part of, until we are complete again.

The actress has received a lot of support in the comments, with Archie's father and Kym's former husband Jamie Lomas sharing a series of red hearts, to which Kym replied: "Our boy!!!".

Coronation Street's Sally Carman (Abi Franklin) wrote: "Oh love", while Jane Danson (Leanne Battersby) added: "Big love Kym . Remembering that very sad and difficult time as if it was yesterday. Hard to believe it’s been 15 years".
