Concert organiser responds to Rainie Yang controversy

14 Dec – The organiser of Rainie Yang's recent concert in Zhengzhou has recently released a statement regarding the singer's error of judgment.

As reported on Sohu, on 12 December, the organiser shared that Rainie has already submitted materials about her slip of the tongue, but they are now waiting for the official result as to how it will be resolved.

It is noted that the Henan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism stated that it had received multiple complaints from citizens on the 11th of December. Currently, the department does not have a unit for such issue, so it has transferred the matter to China's 12345 hotline.

Meanwhile, the staff of the Henan Province 12345 hotline said that they will transfer the case to the relevant departments for processing, and will contact the complainants as soon as there are results.

The issue sparked recently during Rainie's performance in the Henan city of Zhengzhou on 9 December, when fans screamed with joy after a couple was caught on the big screen kissing during her performance.

Rainie, who didn't see the whole thing, asked her audience what happened, but nobody gave her an answer.

The singer then smiled and joked, "You already have some reputation, you know, don't lie to me, Zhengzhou. You are so bad for keep lying to me."

She had since apologised for the offensive joke.
