'Con Air,' 'Star Trek' actor Colm Meaney joins 'Halal Daddy'
Culture-clash comedy "Halal Daddy" is filming on location in northwest Ireland, and Colm Meaney of "Star Trek: TNG" is joining Nikesh Patel of PBS's "Indian Summers" in the movie.
The story sees Raghdan Aziz (Nikesh Patel) move to Ireland in order to escape his controlling father in Bradford, central England.
He moves in with relatives in Sligo, but his dad has other plans, giving him the unexpected present of a halal meat factory, reports Screen Daily.
Already involved were Angeline Ball ("Shameless," "The Commitments"), Sarah Bolger ("The Tudors," "In America"), Stephen Cromwell ("Red Rock") and Art Malik ("Homeland," "Borgia.")
Dublin-born Colm Meaney is well known for his performances in "Star Trek: The Next Generation" and spin-off "Deep Space Nine" as well as "Con Air" and now "Hell on Wheels."
