New Claypot Daddy has over 30 claypot dishes, 50% off during opening week
The claypot is truly an amazing item to have in your kitchen – it imparts unique flavours to dishes and it keeps them warm longer, too. Little wonder then that the newest venture from local restaurateur Shawn Lim, Claypot Daddy, focuses on claypot dishes and sizzling hotplates.
Officially opening at Changi Airport T2 from 13 Jan 2025 onwards, Claypot Daddy is inspired by Shawn’s affection for his daughter, who had a preference for certain dishes cooked in a claypot. Shawn is no stranger to the F&B scene – he has other ventures including Penang Culture, Taiwan Culture and Woke Ramen.
The menu consists of over 30 different dishes, all cooked and served in claypots, or on hotplates. There are no pork dishes here, as the restaurant is working towards attaining a halal certification.
Diners can look forward to dishes such as Claypot Braised Eggplant (S$8.90), Daddy’s Fish Fillet Curry (S$14.90), Gongbao Chicken (S$8.90), Daddy’s Hotplate Char Siew (S$9.90), Silky Steamed Egg (S$6.90), Claypot Dragon Chives (S$8.90) and Daddy’s Signature Treasures (S$18.90).
The char siew is made with chicken breast, and then covered in a sweet red sauce. The curries served here are on the milder side so as to make them more approachable to children and those who can’t handle spice. Daddy’s Signature Treasures is a pot full of prawns, fish maw, scallops, egg tofu and vegetables in a savoury sauce.
Diners can also choose whether they want Fragrant Steamed Rice (S$1.50 for small, S$2 for large), or Claypot Signature White Porridge (S$3) to go with their dishes.
For Claypot Daddy’s grand opening, diners accompanied by their children can enjoy 50% off selected dishes. (P.S.: Parents can bring their parents, too! It counts.) This promotion runs from 13 Jan to 19 Jan 2025, and terms and conditions apply.
