Chung King Fai is doing well after surgery

15 Nov - Although it was previously reported that veteran actor Chung King Fai has taken a temporary hiatus after being diagnosed with first stage colon cancer, it was recently revealed that he has already undergone surgery for his condition.

As reported on Mingpao news, the 79-year-old, who is known to his colleagues as King Sir, reportedly has had a minimally invasive surgery to remove the cancer cells and is already home to recuperate. Friends confirmed that he didn't even need chemotherapy for his situation.

Wayne Lai, his "Dinner at 8" co-star, recently visited the actor, and said that Chung is currently doing well and has a good appetite.

Meanwhile, Power Chan, who was scheduled to perform the stage play "Tuesdays with Morrie" with the veteran star this December, revealed that the troupe director Ko Tin Lung will be replacing Chung for the time being.

"I hope he will recover soon and will be able to return to the stage and the small screen," said the actor.
