Chris Evans says he has never had a bad breakup, and his reason why is lovely
In case you ever had any doubts that Chris Evans is real life Steve Rodgers, we’ve got further evidence. In an interview with Elle, he discussed everything from sticking a banana in his butt in Not Another Teen Movie to his love for his dog (STOP) to running into actresses he’s dated in LA after they break up. Anybody who lives in LA will tell you that, despite it being a truly massive city, it’s also weirdly small in that everybody seems to know everybody — especially within the industry. So we were pretty curious to see what Chris Evans had to say. And obviously, as per the usual, he had the perfect answer.
Chris tells Elle:
“I’ve had no bad breakups in my life. Typically, if I see an ex, I give a big hug, and it’s wonderful to catch up. If you’re ever fortunate enough to love someone and have them love you back, it’s worth protecting that. It’s rare that someone can truly know you. And if you’ve broken through that kind of wall, I think it’s important to value that.”
We literally can’t even with that answer. Chris Evans isn’t just delightful to watch on screen (not to mention definitely grown in some secret Marvel lab so that they’d have a specimen physically perfect enough to play Captain America), but especially lately, he’s really stepped up his game on social media and shown a great deal of empathy, compassion, and a desire to educate himself when it comes to politics.
We can’t necessarily get behind his continued love of Tom Brady, even though he admits it was difficult in light of the recent election (“My brain just cannot reconcile that. I truly chose to stick my head in the ground.”) but we can get behind LITERALLY everything else that comes out of this beautiful man’s mouth.
