Living Room
"Go with a large rug and put the front legs of your furniture on it to anchor the room," according to Rose. The last thing you want is for a rug to feel like an afterthought. Allow it to define the space and don't be afraid to go big because something grand in size actually has the power to make your living room feel larger.
Kitchen
A no-fuss purchase that's easy to clean is definitely what should be in your kitchen. "No-pile rugs are flat and durable—they won't accumulate crumbs," Rose explains. While a pile-free pick may not be as cozy as something thicker, at least you won't have to worry about your family cooking or washing dishes around it.
Bedroom
The opposite goes for the bedroom. Snag a rug you can basically fall asleep on and Rose recommends you push it all the way up to the nightstand. This way, everything will feel plush from the moment you wake up to the end of your day. "When you walk in, you should feel comfortable," she tells us. "A little pile will make it soft and cozy."

If you have kids, pets, or a big family, you can never go wrong with jute. It's stylish and can stand up to any mess that comes its way. "Jute rugs are easy to clean," Rose continues. "You can shake out the debris."
