Chito Miranda recalls decision to quit smoking

The singer-songwriter shares how he succeeded in quitting smoking

17 Apr – Singer-songwriter Chito Miranda recently shared a throwback photo of a past performance, just to recall how he quit smoking more than a couple of years ago.

In the post published on 15 April, Miranda revealed that he started smoking when he was in grade six just to try and "be cool", and then started buying his own packs of cigarettes in his third year of high school.

He admitted that he was never concerned about his health at the time.

Miranda stated that he decided to cut down smoking later on to preserve his voice, but that he finally stopped doing it because of his new life as a husband and a father.

"I completely stopped smoking when Neri was pregnant because I didn't want our baby to be contaminated. When Miggy was born, I decided to live as healthy as possible, because I want to be able to take care of my family to the fullest, until I grow old," wrote the singer.

To those who would like to stop smoking, Miranda's advice is, "You simply need to be stronger than your cravings, and remind yourself why you quit in the first place."
