Chen Jianbin shares experience of working on "Legend of Zhen Huan"

1 Jul – While most men would consider themselves lucky to be surrounded by many beautiful women for months, Chinese actor Chen Jianbin recently admitted that it was not as fun as people might think.

As reported on Phoenix, the actor who appeared on a show alongside actress Zhou Xun recently, discussed about his role as the Yongzheng Emperor in the hit 2011 drama, "Legend of Zhen Huan" (also known as "Empresses in the Palace"), and revealed the reason why he resonated so much with the character.

Chen stated that irritable nature of the emperor perfectly summed up his own feelings while filming the drama.

"In the drama, even though the emperor has lots of concubines, he doesn't really know them well. He was irritated whenever he went to see them since he couldn't pour his heart out," he said.

Chen stated that it was easy for him to get into character since he was also feeling "lonely" during the filming of the drama.

"As soon as the director yelled cut, all the actresses - the concubines - would sit together and start talking at the same time, discussing about bags and [cosmetics]," he said.

Chen said that he would be wandering around on his own, and ended up walking out of the studio and interact with the director instead.

"It was annoying," he added, jokingly.
