Cecilia Yip gets more Filipino fans because of "Still Human"

18 Jun – Hong Kong actress Cecilia Yip recently admitted that starring in Oliver Chan's "Still Human" has made her more famous within the Filipino community in Hong Kong.

As reported on Singtao, the actress, who attended the film's box office celebratory event in North Point, shared that she recently attracted the attention of the Filipino workers of the restaurant she frequented.

"They knew me to be an actress, but recently [one of them] approached me with a photo of the movie and asked me if I was the one in it. When I said yes, she immediately told me that the movie was very entertaining," she said.

Cecilia added that the worker also told her that a lot of Pinoys have watched the film – which revolves around the friendship between a middle-aged Hong Kong man and a Filipina maid - and had loved it.

Asked if she would take this chance to expand her career in the Philippines, she responded lightheartedly, "I don't know Tagalog!"

As for working with new director Oliver Chan again in future projects, the actress said that she would be happy to work with more female directors like Oliver.

"Female directors are a minority in this industry. I hope the success this time doesn't go into her head," she said jokingly.
