Carrie Ng returns to TV for female-themed series

30 Sep – Although it has been decades since she starred in a television drama, Carrie Ng recently revealed that she decided to do the ViuTV series, "Iron Ladies" because of its emphasis on women's issues.

The actress, who sat down for an interview with Mingpao recently, revealed that she has been attuned to projects that focus on women empowerment ever since she filmed the 2019 movie, "Prison Flowers".

"After collaborating with producer Ng King Hung, I realised that a lot of movies and television dramas focus on men. I want to make dramas about women again. There aren't many female-themed series and this time the cast is strong and beautiful. I hope the audience will like it," she said.

Carrie also stated that she empathised a lot with her character in the series, who was too focused on her modelling career in her younger days to have a baby and is now trying to change the course of her life.

However, the actress admitted that she is more conservative in real life, that she would not accept having a child without being married as children need a healthy family to have a happy life.

"Many people envy me for being single and free, but I do think marriage is good, that at least someone will take care of me when I am sick. When you're single, you have to go to the doctors yourself," she said.
