The candy-coloured period piece Bridgerton seems to be on everyone’s must-watch list today.
According to Netflix, a whopping 82 million households around the world watched Bridgerton in the first 28 days since its Christmas 2020 launch, making it the number one show in Netflix history. The Shonda Rhimes executive-produced TV series (the brains behind Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, Private Practice) was ranked number one in 83 countries including the US, UK, Brazil, France, India and South Africa. It make top 10 in all 190 countries except for Japan. And good news; Bridgerton will be renewed for Season 2!
Besides the scintillating storyline, fans of the show would be delighted to know that there were 7,500 pieces of costumes created under the guidance of Ellen Mirojnick, a 71-year-old New York native, who’s created dazzling works for Fatal Attraction, Basic Instinct, The Greatest Showman and Maleficient.
According to an interview with Vogue.com, Mirojnick spoke to creator Sara, Chris Van Dusen and executive producer] Betsy Beers, “to see if it’d be possible to create something on this scale. I also knew the Shondaland aesthetic and understood that this was not going to be like a Jane Austen adaptation. How could we shift the aesthetics of a period drama to make it feel scandalous and modern? Then they asked if I wanted to do it and I jumped in because the challenge was too great. I’d never put together a costume house before.”
If you’re looking to add some Bridgerton-inspired ‘costume pieces’ to your wardrobe like a Featherington or Bridgerton sister, why not take cues from Ganni or Staud, with their lightweight, and flowy pieces that are practical for everyday wear?

Staggs and Mayer, who also are part of the tidal wave of SPACs that have popped up over the last year, are seeking to create a company that will roll up a number of independent content companies, with Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine

Republican Sen. Bill Cassidy insisted Monday night that “Fox News watchers” are big fans of the bipartisan infrastructure bill, even as actual Fox News host Laura Ingraham told him she wasn’t. Ingraham’s point of contention was that, to her mind, President Joe Biden and his administration “played” Republicans with the bill. She said, “The White House is, as I said, quite giddy about this. Reuters describes this as a ‘glide path’ to the $3.5 trillion tonight and they write this up, Senator.” Cass

Discovery surpassed financial expectations in the second quarter of 2021, when advertising sales and growth at Discovery+ made for a solid three-month period. Wall Street had forecast earnings per share (EPS) of 85 cents on $2.97 billion in revenue, according to a consensus estimate of media analysts compiled by Yahoo Finance. Discovery, Inc. beat on both of those, reporting diluted EPS of $1.01 on $3.06 billion in revenue. The company’s revenue grew 21% from the comparable quarter last year, wh
It was a small detail, but my daughter was supposed to be asleep. We had planned the drive to the Cotswolds from our home in Cambridgeshire carefully to coincide with Ebbi’s nap, but as sure as night follows day our 15-month-old did not play ball. So as we wound our way through the lush, green lanes of Wiltshire, I was too distracted by her flip flop between drowsy and furious to enjoy the scenery. This trip is going to be a nightmare, I thought.
