Bowie Lam has no plans to develop dramas outside HK
21 May – Although his first work as a drama producer, "The Gutter" is doing well in the ratings since it premiered on ViuTV, Bowie Lam stated that he has no plans to try and expand the market outside of Hong Kong.
As reported on Mingpao, the actor-turned-producer who spoke to the media about his production company recently, stated that they have no intentions to expand and develop outside the city, and instead would focus on creating more Hong Kong series and shows.
"I am pretty content for what we have now. To be able to participate in the production work and perform in the series has been really great," he said.
Bowie also added that his company is currently preparing for two to three new drama projects.
Asked if his studio will increase manpower to create job opportunities for film workers that have been out of work since the pandemic, the actor said that he is open to the idea.
"The most important thing is to produce new interesting ideas and perspectives," he added.
