Bowie Lam enjoys producing his own drama
18 May – Although he wore two different hats as an actor and producer for his new ViuTV drama, "The Gutter", Bowie Lam recently stated that he was not at all pressured by his many responsibilities while working on the project.
The actor, who sat down for an interview with Mingpao recently, stated that being a producer for the first time was special to him, as he was able to get more involved in a project.
"When I was just an actor, I would only focus on my responsibility as an actor - go to work on time, memorise the script and keep things in order. But this time, when I take off my actor's hat, I had to approach the directors and discuss on how to shoot the drama well. I also shared opinions with the actors and discussed their own perspectives on their characters," he said.
Bowie stated that he is now addicted to the producing job, and really enjoyed watching the actors perform on camera.
When it comes to the challenges, the actor said that the most difficult part of his job concerns the weather, as he has no ability to control it.
"Once, we had to go to Belgium to shoot for ten days. But the local area was freezing and windy, and it blew down everything. We had to move to a parking lot nearby a conservatory to continue shooting," he said.
