Blundstone and Comme des Garçons Homme Team Up to Launch Chef-Inspired Clogs

Comme des Garçons has linked with yet another brand, this time heritage boot brand Blundstone.

Comme des Garçon Homme creative director Junya Watanabe drew inspiration from Blundstone’s All-Terrain series, originally crafted with culinary professionals in mind, to create the exclusive #2453 clog. Limited to just 500 pairs, the new clog features a black waterproof leather upper embossed with CDGH’s logo and a blue and white striped lining displaying co-branding detailing on the insole. Grippy, slip-resistant Vibram soles finish off the design.

While the exterior of the clog offers a rugged, no-nonsense appearance, the beachy blue and white striped lining delivers a look that’s ideal for spring and summer. The style is great for those in the culinary profession, as well as gardeners or really anyone who is on their feet a lot.

This collaboration coincides with the restocking of Blundstone’s popular clog collection this month. The brand’s All-Terrain and Originals clogs are both available to shop again. The Tasmanian footwear brand known for its hardwearing boots was founded in 1870 and has maintained a strong customer base over the decades. Last September, the brand launched its first-ever global campaign, which highlighted the stories of wearers of their boots.

“The more you wear a pair of Blundstones, the more they begin to reflect the life you live,” said CEO Adam Blake. “Every scuff and mark has a story, intertwined with your life experiences and personality. Like wine, our boots only get better with age.”

Meanwhile, Comme des Garçons’ Junya Watanabe is practically the king of collaborations, along with Kith’s Ronnie Fieg. The Japanese creative director has designed shoes in partnership with Nike, Converse, New Balance, and Vans through the years. Some of his most memorable collaborations include the eyeball graphic CDG x Supreme x Nike Air Force 1 in 2016 and the neon pink CDH x Nike Air Max 180 sneaker in 2018. More recently, the edgy brand showcased a pink and white co-branded Nike model resembling the Air Max 96 on the runway at Paris Fashion Week last summer.

The Comme des Garçons Homme x Blundstone clog will be available to shop throughout February, exclusively at select Comme des Garçons stores and stockists, including Ssense, Kith, and more.
