Running Man fans might remember HaHa as a kid, a playboy and a betrayer on the hit Korean variety show, but the new dad exuded an uncharacteristic mature charm when he was in Singapore on Friday with his music partner, Korean reggae artiste Skull.

The 33-year-old comedian-singer and his wife, ballad-singer Byul, recently welcomed their new baby boy, Dream, on 9 July.

Speaking to the media and hundreds of fans at Velocity ahead of their first overseas fan meet on Saturday at 7pm at Zouk, HaHa said he would sing “gospel songs” to his baby, which is something he learnt from his mother, a pastor. The entertainer then sang a few lines of a Korean Christian song, showing a charming fatherly side.

The reggae duo is in Singapore to promote their second single, “Ragga Muffin”, which was released last month. In the new single, HaHa and Skull, 34, demonstrate maturity in their singing as they fully embrace the reggae culture, which is a long way from the days when people didn’t even know that HaHa was a singer.

HaHa said reggae is not that popular in Korea, but it is made famous by Skull, whom he called the “pioneer in the reggae scene in Korea”.

Skull interested in Singapore women

While HaHa is off the market, Skull has stepped up to fill the role of the ladies’ man.

He won over the hearts of the women at the event when he repeatedly called them “beautiful ladies”.

When asked by a reporter to describe his ideal type, he immediately grasped the opportunity to ask the reporter for her phone number, leaving her at a loss for words.

But Skull is not just a ladies’ man, he also has a close friendship with HaHa.

Skull said he’s really grateful to HaHa for inviting him to perform at the fan meet, adding that it’s "his honour to perform here in Singapore, especially in front of the beautiful fans”.

The two singers also bantered freely, with both revealing secrets about each other.

Skull said, “HaHa is much more tough and manly than he looks, and he drinks alcohol very well.”

Meanwhile, HaHa teased that “Skull has a really hot body” and urged fans to go for the fan meet as Skull would be showing off his body for the fans.

HaHa also said that fans can look forward to a “passionate” fan meet on Saturday evening, with “water cannons on stage so that everybody is going to get wet”.

And here’s some good news for Running Man fans.

HaHa hinted that the Running Man cast might be coming to Singapore for a fan meet soon, if the schedules of the members permit.
