S.H.E's Ella Chen became the second member of the Taiwanese girl group to tie the knot when she married Malaysian Alvin Lai on Saturday.

The couple, who have been dating for over a year, exchanged rings and said "I do" in front of fifty tables of close friends and relatives.

Held at the Le Meridien Taipei, the wedding featured an elaborate Roman-style stage and guests were treated to a cheeky couple dance that ended with Alvin and Ella dirty-dancing to the thumping bass of Beyonce's "Single Ladies".

The who's-who of Taiwan's showbiz industry were there that night, including Matilda Tao, Barbie Hsu, Fish Leong, and, of course, Ella's best friends and fellow S.H.E members Hebe Tien and Selina Jen.

Selina married her businessman fiance in October last year on her 30th birthday in a tearful celebration that nearly did not happen when she was badly burnt during a rehearsal in 2010.

Hebe was Ella's maid-of-honor, while indie group Soda Green frontman Wu Tsing-Fong was the best man.

Saturday's wedding, hosted by funnymen Ah-Ken and Nado, was private and guests were told not to broadcast the event on social sites Weibo and Facebook.

However, Ella and her new husband held a media session before the wedding dinner, where she was asked by reporters whether she would cry later - and promptly started to tear.

According to Focus Taiwan News, the bride later gushed "My husband is the best!" as she threw her bouquet of flowers to her waiting single friends, causing a frenzy.

The much-coveted bouquet was caught by Taiwanese golf prodigy Yani Tseng, 23.

The couple will reportedly be holding another wedding later this year at Alvin's hometown in Malacca.

When asked by Taiwan media, Alvin, a L'Oreal Group marketing manager, declined to comment, but speculation is rife that the wedding will be taking this May.
