BLACKPINK's Lisa to make history with Oscar night performance
26 Feb - BLACKPINK's Lisa is making history by becoming the first K-pop idol to perform at the Academy Awards.
The singer, real name Lalisa Manobal, will be taking the stage alongside Doja Cat and Raye at the 97th Oscars on 2 March, which will be aired live on various channels as well as Disney+ Hotstar.
The three will be performing their song, "Born Again" that is featured in the third season of HBO's "The White Lotus".
The announcement sparked criticism among Oscar audiences, as the song is not a part of the Best Original Song nominees or even a film that is nominated for an Academy.
Meanwhile, other performers at the event include Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo, who will perform a song from their nominated film, "Wicked".
