There's no denying a royal event is an excellent opportunity for top-tier fashion – just think back to the Coronation. And now, with the President and the First Lady of the Republic of Korea in the UK on an official state visit, we're set for plenty of princess-worthy style as British and South Korean dignitaries pull out all the stops on official engagements.

Case in point: Kate Middleton, who kicked things off on the fashion front yesterday, attending the ceremonial welcome wearing a stunning caped coat dress in the colour of the moment. She only upped the ante later that evening in a regal Jenny Packham gown worn with a super-rare tiara that was last seen in the 1930s.

Also in attendance at last night's State Banquet were Blackpink. The K-Pop girl band are pop royalty (an altogether different kind of royalty, but royalty none the less IMO) and they certainly dressed the part in stunning evening gowns.

Band members Jisoo, Lisa, Jennie and Rosé looked like *actual* royalty at the event. They each opted for very different looks, with Rosé donning a black strapless velvet dress that featured a sweetheart neckline. She kept her look minimal, pairing the classic design with black court shoes and added a coordinating bow to her hair that she wore in a half-up style.

Jisoo opted for a little more drama, wearing a textured black dress with voluminous puff sleeves from Christian Dior's Resort 2024 collection. She carried a Dior monogram top-handle black bag, and added black platform heeled sandals to her feet.

Contrasting her bandmates, Jennie (who starred in The Idol alongside Lily-Rose Depp) wore an elegant, long-sleeved white gown. With an off-the-shoulder neckline and layered fabric over the bodice, the design also had a train. Jennie also wore black platform sandals and carried a sparkly clutch bag.

Finally, Lisa wowed in a turquoise tulle Georges Hobeika dress embellished with sequins and beads. The gown also featured a billowing chiffon cape. Lisa added metallic platform heeled sandals, a large sparkly clutch bag and a diamond necklace to complete her look.

Their presence at the State Banquet was acknowledged by King Charles during his speech, when he mentioned the band and praised them for their environmental activism.

“It is especially inspiring to see Korea’s younger generation embrace the cause. I applaud Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa and Rosé, better known collectively as Blackpink, for their role in bringing the message of environmental sustainability to a global audience as Ambassadors for the U.K.’s Presidency of COP 26, and later as advocates for the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals,” the King said. “I can only admire how they can prioritise these vital issues, as well as being global superstars.”

We'll take that as official confirmation, Blackpink are Queens.
