Berryshape apologises for the use of Hafidz Roshdi's photo for advertisement

20 Oct - Social media influencer Shuhada Mat Shukri recently shared a statement from slimming juice brand, Berryshape, to address the previous "Before and After" photo that she posted on social media to promote the product.

Earlier this week, Shuhada's ex-husband Hafidz Roshdi expressed his unhappiness over Shuhada using an old photo of the two of them as the "Before" picture, where Hafidz's face was haphazardly pixelated.

"Does she not have any other photo? I think she can just remove the photo and change to a different one before I take appropriate action," he expressed.

The photo has also sparked criticisms from netizens, who stated that it seems Shuhada has not moved on and is still using her previous divorce to make profit.

In response to Hafidz, Shuhada posted a statement from Berryshape, where they stated that they were the ones who prepared the content for her to post.

"At first, we intended to use the photo for the comparison between before and after she lost her weight. Honestly, the photo was used because the same photo was used in the past by many to body shame her. We didn't expect that the photo would touch upon the sensitivity of some parties as we have also covered her ex-husband's face," the company stated.

They also added that they have communicated with Hafidz on what had happened and that everything has been resolved.
