New beginnings for Yuan Yiqi as she kicks off solo tour after SNH48 departure

20 Nov - Yuan Yiqi is set to make her solo debut following her graduation from Chinese idol group, SNH48.

As reported on Sohu, on 16 and 17 November, the singer's graduation performance was held at the SNH48 Star Dream Theatre in Shanghai, where she sang several classic songs including her graduation song, "Dream River".

She also took down her official photo hanging in the venue and announcing her goodbye to everyone.

Following the graduation concert, Yuan spoke to the media of her upcoming plans, saying, "I will calm down first, improve myself and then have more works."

She also admitted that she is currently creating more works and will also try new styles in her music. She has also established her own studio in order to do so.

It is noted that Yuan will be kicking off her solo tour in December, beginning with Guangzhou on 1 December, followed by Fuzhou on 7 December, and Changsha on 14 December. She has also released her EP, "Gummy", which combines retro funk with R&B elements.
