Baron Chen forced to take a break due to injury

30 May - Taiwanese actor Baron Chen (also known as River Chen) will have to take a temporary break from showbiz following his recent leg injury.

As reported on UDN News, the actor, who starred in mainland reality show "Race the World" recently, was injured after his protective harness slipped while filming a challenge that required him to be hoisted up in the air.

Although the actor decided to complete the recording, X-rays taken after the programme showed that it was more than just an ordinary injury, and that the actor had actually torn his ligament and failed to get the supposed treatment within seven hours after sustaining them.

The actor had since returned to Taiwan for further treatment. It was revealed that Baron will also have to undergo surgery and take several months of rest before returning to work.

The situation seemed to have cost him a lot of financial loss. Baron, who has already started filming a new movie with Huang Xiaoming, will have to be replaced by another actor, and cancel other jobs that he has taken for the upcoming months.

Baron also revealed that he will have to walk with crutches for the time being, but promises to take good care of his health so that he can return to work as soon as possible.
