New Balance Gave Its Popular 1906R Sneaker a Winter-Ready Update
The New Balance 1906 isn’t letting up any time soon. From its viral 1906L loafer variation to deconstructed “Refined Future” styles and numerous 1906U collaborations, the chameleon-like model has been able to adapt to nearly anything New Balance has thrown its way. Soon, the shoe will undergo yet another transformation as the athletic footwear company taps fabric brand Cordura for a new set of styles.
Set to release soon in four colorways is a New Balance 1906R “Cordura Pack.” Suitable for the seasons ahead, each shoe in the pack features updated mesh material which has been reinforced with the durable Cordura. Although the exact color descriptions have not been announced, the latest 1906R “Cordura Pack” will be offered in blue, cream, gray and olive variations.

While not completely waterproof, the Cordura treatment adds a high level of water resistance to the 1906R. And with the earthy color palettes chosen for each pair, these are a perfectly adequate selection to finish out the winter weather.
New Balance released a different 1906R “Cordura Pack” in August 2024. That set also featured four colorways but incorporated a different use of the Cordura material.
In related news, New Balance recently released a trio of “Refined Future” 1906A colorways and has continued to pump out new 1906L loafer iterations including new suede-covered versions.
Readers can expect each sneaker in the New Balance 1906R “Cordura Pack” to be released soon for a retail price of $170 each.
