Asia’s first snow, surf and skate attraction Trifecta to open in Singapore on 28 Oct
Orchard Road attraction to house world’s first hybrid skate bowl, a snow and surf arena and sports store
SINGAPORE — Extreme sports enthusiasts will be eagerly anticipating the opening of Trifecta, Asia's first snow, surf, and skate attraction, in Orchard Road on 28 October.
The first-of-its-kind attraction - which is located next to the Somerset Skate Park - will take up the size of four Olympic swimming pools, and feature a snow and surf arena as well as the world’s first hybrid skate bowl.
Conceptualised and developed by home-own adventure travel company The Ride Side, Trifecta will operate from 7am to midnight daily, and cater to both beginners as well as experienced skiers, snowboarders and surfers.
The attraction will utilise the latest technology in surf and snow simulators to mimic conditions on ocean waves and ski slopes.
Snow arena
The snow arena for snowboarding will have simulator machines powered by the first virtual-reality (VR) ski simulator in Asia. It will have speed simulation and directional movements to mimic natural mountain terrain.
A "freestyle area", fitted with airbags and dry slopes, will also be available for guests to try snowboard tricks in a safe environment. Only six people can be accommodated in each session per hour.
Surf arena
The surf arena will feature Asia’s largest standing wave pool at 10m wide and generate 1.5m-high waves. It will be the deepest wave pool in Singapore, and allow guests to use surfboards with fins in the Olympic-size pool. Each session can accommodate 12 people per hour.
Hybrid skate bowl
Designed by skaters from Bali’s popular community skate sports like Pretty Poison and Amplitude Skate Park, the world’s first hybrid skate bowl will allow both skateboarding and surf-skating.
It will be free for all to use, and complement the Somerset Skate Park next door. Skate lessons will also be available.
All-day dining concept
Butter, a collaborative kitchen between Two Men Bagel House and Trifecta, will serve up all-day menus.
The 70-seater outlet will serve bagels, baked goods such as croissants, family-friendly pancakes, hearty grain bowls, as well as beers, coffees, desserts, and more.
Diners can have their meals in the restaurant or choose to take away to the surf and snow arenas.
Mobile app and multi-label retail store
A mobile app will also be made available for visitors to book sessions and classes, track training schedules, conduct cashless in-app payments with rewards, and connect with others.
Users will also have access to in-app promotions, and exclusive access to events based on spending tiers. They will also be able to earn points and redeem exclusive merchandise and offers.
The Ride Side will have a flagship retail store in Trifecta offering products across 50 lifestyle and board sports brands.
A festival, spanning four weekends of entertainment and activities, will also kick off on 28 October. Further details of the festival will be announced in September.
How to get tickets
Single-class passes for hour-long sessions will start from $54 for surfskating, $90 for snowboarding and skiing, and $108 for surfing.
Early bird packages are available from now until 4 September, with up to 10 per cent off passes and credit packages.
General sales tickets will start from 5 September. Visitors can purchase off-peak single passes and open sessions through Trifecta’s website.
Singapore also opened its largest outdoor skate park at Lakeside Garden in April this year.
