App takes you inside Shepard Fairey's largest-ever solo show

The "DAMAGED" allows users to experience Shepard Fairey's 22017 exhibit "DAMAGED in VR/AR

A new app called "DAMAGED" offers a virtual reality/augmented reality immersive experience allowing fans of the famed artist Shepard Fairey to experience his largest solo exhibition to date, which was held last year in Los Angeles.

Featuring new work by Fairey, "DAMAGED" the exhibit had a limited run in LA in November-December 2017 and was the artist and provocateur's first solo show in his hometown in more than 10 years.

During the show, appmaker VRt Ventures used laser scanning and volumetric photogrammetry technology to scan the entire exhibition space in detail.

The resulting app is an immersive journey through the exhibit accompanied by more than 100 minutes of narration by Fairey. An augmented reality feature allows users to navigate the exhibit at their own pace.

"DAMAGED" the app is a joint venture between VRt Ventures, Shepard Fairey and Juxtapoz Magazine. It is available now for $4.99 on Oculus, Samsung Gear and Steam in VR as well as via the iOS App Store and Google Play.
