Anthony Edwards and Trae Young Both Get Their Own Adidas Rivalry Low Sneakers
More from Footwear News
Anthony Edwards’ slate of Adidas sneakers is expanding outside of his signature line.
Adidas has released a special-edition colorway of the Rivalry Low for the Minnesota Timberwolves superstar. The sneaker comes after the debut of his AE 1 signature sneaker in December and ahead of the low-top iteration expected to release this summer.
The black, orange and pink Rivalry Low is a sister shoe of sorts to the “Georgia Peach” and “With Love” colorways of the AE 1, the latter of which launched the model. Black suede forms the bulk of the shoe’s upper, while pink and peach paneling is used for select overlays. Pink also forms the sockliner and upper portion of the midsole, and fat rope laces take on a pink and black pattern. Edwards’ signature is then embossed on the mustache.
Trae Young also gets a pair pulling colors from his alma matter, the University of Oklahoma, and that of his grandfather, Western Oklahoma State College. OU Crimson and white form the leather upper, including panels with a cracked texture near the toe and on the mustache. The clashing green and yellow rope laces then rep his grandfather, Rayford Young I, and his own logo appears on the mustache.
A third pair was also made for Jalen Green, with colors representing his Filipino heritage.
The white, maroon and yellow iteration opts for a leather upper composed mostly of white. Maroon accents then feature throughout, including with a cracked texture for a panel above the toes and the mustache. Clashing rope laces appear in yellow and green, while a new logo appears on the mustache.
Adidas’ Rivalry sneaker dates back to 1986 and was an Air Jordan 1 competitor with Patrick Ewing as its headliner. The low-top iteration, which has been consistent in Adidas’ slate in recent years, debuted a few years later.
Anthony Edwards, Trae Young and Jalen Green’s Adidas Rivalry Lows are out now through Footlocker. Pricing is set at $100.
