Andy Lau is finally able to celebrate birthday with fans again

 

 

13 Sep – Five years after his last birthday gathering, Andy Lau is back to celebrating his 61st birthday.

On 11 September, the Hong Kong superstar successfully held his birthday event with 3,000 of his Andy's World fans at the AsiaWorld-Expo, as well as with celebrity friends that include George Lam and Sally Yeh, Bowie Wu, Law Lan, Carlos Chan and Joey Yung.

Andy performed several of his classic works, followed by performances from his celebrity guests. In one instance, Law Lan also publicly praised the actor to his fans, saying that Andy has always been respectful to his elders.

Meanwhile, Joey, who attended Andy's birthday party for the first time, stated that she is happy to receive the honour.

"I feel like I have become part of the family. I hope to attend Andy's birthday party every year in the future," she said.

Andy, whose birthday is actually on the 27th September, expressed gratitude for finally being able to gather with fans again, saying "Apart from Hong Kong, many of them came from other places especially for this. I wish my 'family' will continue to stay healthy and I can see you all at my birthday party every year. I also want to thank everyone in the circle for their kind wishes and sharing the joy of my birthday with me."

It is noted that Andy had held his birthday with fans every year, until the COVID-19 pandemic halted the annual event.
