Andrew Chan admits he has left TVB

31 Oct – Actor Andrew Chan has confirmed reports that he has left TVB, saying that he has decided to pursue his acting career elsewhere.

As reported on Mingpao, the actor, who became popular after joining series four of TVB's hit singing competition "The Voice", shared that he has not been and will no longer be appearing on TVB shows again since he has already terminated his contract.

"For now I will focus on doing a variety show in mainland China. We will begin shooting at the end of the year," he said.

Although Andrew has been with TVB for four years, he admitted that he has not been given a fair chance to show his talent. Aside from hosting shows, the actor's biggest acting job was playing a supporting role in the sitcom, "Lo and Behold".

"I have asked Elena Kong, Joyce Tang and Evergreen Mak's opinion about leaving the company, and they all agree and encouraged me. But they also told me that I will be doing it at my own risk," he said.

As for his mother, television presenter Priscilla Ku, Andrew said that she was in favour of his decision.

When asked if he would turn to his mother for help, Andrew dismissed the idea, saying that he is never one to rely on his parents.
