Alyssa Chia to make acting comeback

15 Mar – It was reported that Taiwanese actress Alyssa Chia is set to make her television comeback this year, after two years of hiatus.

As reported on TVBS, the actress who last played the main role in the 2016 drama, "Angel Wings", will be participating in the upcoming series, "The Distance Between Evil and Us" (working title), written by Lu Shih-yuan of "Long Day's Journey into Light" fame.

The drama reportedly will revolve around a killer and his victim's family.

It is said that Alyssa decided to accept the role after realising that the subject matter is relatable to her life as a wife and mother, and the fact that it will be filmed around her hometown Taipei.

When asked about the project recently, Alyssa's manager responded, "We are looking forward to the new project."

Known for dramas like "The Prince of Han Dynasty", and "Lady Wu: The First Empress", Alyssa first took hiatus from showbiz after being pregnant with Shiou Jieh-kai's daughter Bubu in 2015. The couple then welcomed another baby girl Bobo in 2017.

Alyssa also has a daughter named Angelina from her previous marriage to businessman Sun Zihao.
