Along Cham announces his divorce from wife of 10 months
6 Feb - Along Cham has indirectly confirmed that he is now divorced via his new status on social media.
On 4 February, the comedian posted a message on Instagram Story, saying, "Praise be to God. Shariah Court matters are done."
He also added the hashtag "Arbaie is Single Again", in reference to his character from the 2000 TV drama directed by Mamat Khalid.
Along, real name Muhammad Nazimudin Ahmad, surprised many recently when he filed for taklik against wife Afreena Suhaimi a day after he was released from jail on bail following a drug arrest.
He claimed that Afreena has gone against three taklik conditions that were agreed upon earlier, including "disobeying her husband". Along also stated that he actually was supposed to file the taklik in December last year, but was arrested for allegedly possessing drugs two days prior to his court appearance.
Along tied the knot with Afreena back in April last year, eight years after his divorce from singer Zila Seeron.
Taklik is a type of conditional divorce in Islamic law that allows a spouse to apply for divorce if the other party breaks a condition set out in their marriage agreement.
