Alex Fong establishes a swimming academy
2 May – Hong Kong actor and former swimmer Alex Fong revealed that he has recently established a swimming academy.
As reported on Mingpao, the actor who spoke about his new venture with the media at a Yan Oi Tong charity event last weekend, shared that he hopes to give back to society by providing them swimming classes at his new academy, which is opening this month.
"I like swimming, and I hope to cultivate more talents and at the same time help low-income families," he said, referring to his previous Instagram post about the academy sponsoring children of low-income families.
It is noted that prior to his showbiz career, Alex was a swimmer who represented Hong Kong in the international arena since he was 11. He even competed at the Sydney Olympics back in 2000 as part of the Hong Kong Swimming Team.
When asked if he will be teaching classes himself, Alex said that it would be hard for him to coach a class fulltime with his current schedule.
"But we do provide swimming coaches at the academy," he said.
