Aika Ota announces first pregnancy

1 Aug - Aika Ota recently announced that she is now pregnant with her first baby.

The former AKB48 and HKT48 member shared the good news via social media with a photo of her showing off her growing belly, writing, "My partner and I are happy to announce that we are welcoming a new life into our family."

"I am now in my late stage of the pregnancy. We originally planned to report this news only after the delivery but we found it difficult to keep it private day after day, so we decided to report it at this time," she added.

Aika stated that she can feel her baby moving every day in her belly, and that she can't wait for the day when she can meet her child.

"I will keep you updated once the baby is born. Thank you for always watching over me. Thank you for your continued support," she added.

It is noted that Aika tied the knot with Chiba Lotte Marines baseball player Koki Yamaguchi in November 2023.
