Aaron Aziz lodges complaint to MCMC over misuse of AI technology

1 Apr – Aaron Aziz recently revealed that he has filed a report against an individual who misused his image and voice to commit fraud.

The 48-year-old actor shared with the media that he has lodged the report to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) and that the matter is still under investigation.

However, it may take a long time to process as there were several complicated procedures that had to be carried out including tracing the identity of the individual involved.

"At the same time, I have also sent a representative to the factory but it is difficult to track them down because they have many agents. The scammer used my voice and image using the AI technology to make it seem like I was promoting the product," he said.

Aaron said that the said party was promoting t-shirts priced at only RM1, which did not make sense to him.

"I hope that a special unit will be established by MCMC to combat such activities. I am not the only one affected, as there are many other individuals who have suffered the same situation," he said.
