Designers turn to HomeGoods for everything from quality throw pillows to pretty dinnerware. But among all of the treasures are shocking items with questionable price tags that abruptly stop shoppers in their tracks. We’re talking ball pit chairs for $300 and sad, faceless statues that don’t align with the chain’s cheery atmosphere. To paint a picture for you of just how wild these products can get, we’ve collected a handful of the most shocking things to ever be sold at HomeGoods. Revel in the weirdness below.

A Carriage for Just Under $2,000

TikToker @trendyjohnsunscreen is particularly skilled at spotting absolutely bonkers items at HomeGoods. Topping that list has to be a wrought-iron-style princess carriage for $1,999—displayed with an $800 jester statue inside.

Snowman-Style Disco Balls for $300

On a tamer but still off-putting note, the TikToker has also spotted disco ball decor in the shape of a snowman tagged for $300. Honestly, with a makeover, it could add much-needed sparkle to a holiday display. In the same video, the shopper spotted another noteworthy item: a fringed black leather chair for $600.

Ball Pit Chairs for $300

If you’ve ever been in a ball pit and thought, I wish this was a chair, you’re not alone. HomeGoods started selling a plastic chair filled with those colorful plastic spheres all the way back in 2020, and people were into them. In 2024, they were spotted on clearance for $200.

A Sad Statue

People take long strolls through HomeGoods to see all of the lovely sights—not to be met with ones that emanate sorrow. But sure enough, one TikToker found a gray statue of a faceless person sitting on the ground and hugging their knees. Even placed amid an outdoor furniture set, it’s an uninviting sight.

A Dandelion-Shaped Floor Lamp for $100

You know those trees in The Lorax? Well, HomeGoods seems to have been inspired by those, or basic dandelions, when the company sold a floor lamp in the style for nearly $100. The lighting is a prime suspect for a DIY attempt first.

Food Stool Mania

When the food stools at HomeGoods went viral, the company ran with it—and did not hold back. Think of your favorite food or drink, and chances are HomeGoods has a stool for it. The concept certainly taps into shoppers’ playful energy!

A Bust Blowing Bubble Gum for $17

When it comes to smaller items, there’s no shortage of oddities. Take the $17 bust blowing bubble gum, $40 desk lamp with bunny ears, and $17 peeled banana candle holders in the above video as undeniable proof.
