In the world of fashion accessories, form can often outshine function (think micro bags or the "naked shoe"). But such is not the case with, perhaps, one of the most useful accouterments of all: everyday belts.
Although such a functional item will always hold importance in any wardrobe, I've been noticing a substantial rise in the unassuming accessory, especially belts that borrow from '90s minimalism — mid-to-narrow leather bands adorned with subtle statement hardware (buckles, rings or tips) molded into soft shapes, like those endorsed by Bottega Veneta (see: its signature triangle-adorned style), Khaite or The Row.
Decorative belts aren't necessarily going anywhere, especially with festival season around the corner, but collecting a couple of trustworthy, less-flashy options that you love to wear on a daily basis is a very worthy investment.
