15,000 participants in Singapore's first Star Wars Run on 6 May

The force is strong with the upcoming Star Wars Run this Saturday (6 May).

Some 15,000 runners, including over 1,600 participants from overseas, will be participating in the inaugural edition of the run.

The event will see Star Wars characters such as Kylo Ren and Chewbacca flagging off the run which starts at the Bayfront event space on Saturday evening. The run will also be the first in Singapore to display low-level fireworks at the flag-off.

The run features two distance categories – 4.5km and 10km, and runners can choose to join the Rebellion and run for the Light side, or follow the footsteps of Darth Vader on the Dark side. Runners will be able to enjoy light projections, music and Star Wars-themed surprises on their route.

An outdoor screening of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will also be held at the race village after the run, and the race village will also feature a range of Star Wars-inspired activities and food.
