10 best restaurants to brave the Subang Jaya SS15 traffic for

SS15. I know I personally groan at the very thought of looking for a parking spot in this part of Subang Jaya. In fact, when the bubble tea craze was at its peak, SS15 was the place to be, the streets lining with every bubble tea brand imaginable. Parking troubles aside, SS15 is known for its endless food varieties.

Whether its burgers, fried chicken, nasi lemak, noodles, this neighbourhood has it all. So I scoured the streets, consuming endless amounts of fried chicken, doughnuts and salted egg butter chicken (after finding a parking space of course) in efforts to bring you the updated 10 most delicious eats in SS15.

1. Lukumades

Lukumades first started out in Melbourne and has officially opened their very first store in SS15, Subang Jaya. So what is the newest dessert craze taking over TikTok? Freshly-fried doughnuts coated in the sauce of your choice— Oreo, Matcha, Peanut Butter, Dark Chocolate and more. Perfect for those with a sweet tooth!

2. Jibril

Can’t get enough of salted egg butter dishes? SS15’s Jibril has been serving its salted egg butter chicken for years to the hungry folks of Subang Jaya. Known for their triple-frying method to ensure the chicken remains crispy when coated with the creamy salted egg butter sauce, your plate of rice will also come with more butter sauce.

3. Lim Fried Chicken

With 13 outlets scattered across Klang Valley, Lim Fried Chicken is loved by all for its crispy fried chicken, rice and curry. Walk into the SS15 outlet and order the best seller: rice, the famous Lim Fried Chicken, curry, vegetables and a dollop of sambal.

Not big on rice? Switch it up for their chee cheong fun (RM15.90) which is generously drizzled with their curry and sambal. If you enjoy huge portions of food at affordable prices, Lim Fried Chicken’s huge crispy chicken leg will definitely have you smiling from ear to ear. 4. Nomms

If you frequently visit the SS15 area in Subang Jaya, you’d probably come across Nomms. This fried chicken eatery is known far and wide for their pressure-frying method which ensures crispy chicken skin and juicy meat.

Go straight for the Signature Nomms Fried Chicken (RM14.90). Choose between Original, Spicy, Salted Egg or a special flavour of the month. Other than their famous fried chicken, Nomms also offers an array of other dishes for you to choose from. Whether you prefer grilled chicken or tempura fish, you’re bound to find something that suits your liking here.

5. Beef Bowl

Craving a comforting bowl of noodles? Located in SS15, Beef Bowl is known for its halal-certified Thai noodles with tender, fall-off-the-bone beef slices (RM15.90). Don’t consume beef? Don’t worry, they also offer Thai-style chicken noodle soup and dry egg noodles.

Each meal comes with a green chilli blend on the side for that extra spice. If you enjoy a refreshing Thai iced milk tea, Beef Bowl serves the perfect milk tea to wash down the noodles.

6. Uncle Soon Fried Rice

If there ever was an award for the‘ Best Fried Rice in Town’, it would definitely go to Uncle Soon Fried Rice in SS15. This place has made a name for its wok hei-filled fried rice with choice of char siu and prawns topped with egg and sambal (RM11).

The flavourful rice paired with the oozing fried egg and spicy sambal definitely hits the spot for lunch or dinner.

7. Uncle Seng

Craving for handmade noodles? Head over to SS15’S Uncle Seng. They serve dry style handmade noodles with your choice of fried pork, char siew or chicken curry. Try the Fried Pork and Curry Chicken Noodle (RM11).

The noodles are best paired with their signature chilli sauce. It’s a must try. But be warned, it’s spicy! So if you can’t handle the heat, take it easy with the chilli.

8. Ooi Noodle House

If you grew up in Subang Jaya, you’d definitely be familiar with Ooi Noodle House. Known for their pork noodles (RM11), it’s no surprise that the average waiting time is between 45 minutes to one hour.

Served with noodles of your choice (kuey teow, mee hun, mee, mee suah or loh shi fun), chunky minced pork bits, pork slices, dark green vegetables, as well as a poached egg. In fact, the pork noodles has been acclaimed by many as the best in the entire Klang Valley.

9. The Toast House

Located in Subang Jaya’s F&B hub on the busy street of SS15, The Toast House is originally from Fengjia district, Taichung, Taiwan. The Toast House is famous for their charcoal grilled sandwiches as well as other Taiwaneses favourite breakfast such as Taiwanese Pancake with various fillings, burgers and black tea beverages.

Don’t miss out on their bestseller jumbo sandwich— the Jumbo Thick Cut Beef (RM16). It’s made up of beef patty, egg, mashed potato, cabbage, tomato slice, mustard, and a thousand island dressing sandwiched between two slices of toast bread.

10. Burgertory

Spend your nights with your friends huddled over delicious pork burgers and craft beers at Burgertory. Must-tries are the Bacon Madness (RM22): chock-full of candied bacon and bacon strips as well as the Burgertory Classic (RM15): juicy pork patty, cheddar cheese, lettuce and crispy onion.

You may also opt to spice up your order with the Peanut Butter Bacon (RM22) which is, loaded with streaky bacon, peanut butter and cheddar cheese.
